At the 2017 Annual Partner in Excellence Dinner, the East Brunswick Education Foundation Trustees will honor Holly Howard

Holly has been an active volunteer in ourschool community for the past 30 years, starting as a PTAmom at Frost Elementary School. It was during this time she developed her love of the district and recognized the importance of building strong relationships between home and school. She was extremely hands-on and loved every minute of working together with students,parents and staff members. Holly believed strongly that funds raised through volunteerism are essential toenhancing the educational experiencesof students,so with Beth Warren’s guidance,Holly proposed the establishment of the Frost PTA Teacher Grant Program. prior tothe establishment of the EBEF. Holly was elected President of Frost PTA and later became President of the PTA Presidents Council, where she workedto instill a sense of community and consistency among the district schools. In 1995, she was elected to the East Brunswick Board of Education. Holly has served on the Board for the past 21 years, serving as President, VicePresident andMember. As a Member of the Board, Holly’s areas of focus have been Facilities, EBEA Negotiationsand Curriculum. Holly served as the Board’s liaison to the East Brunswick Senior Center, working with Dr. Jo Ann Magistro and Trish LaDuca to forge stronger relationships between the district. students and membersof the Center. She also represented the Board on the EBEF, Recognition Committee, and Middlesex Regional Educational Services Commission for many years. Holly is a graduate of The College of New Jerseywith a B.S. on Health Education. She was employed asa teacher by the Princeton Regional Schools and later as the manager of The Wooden Nickel Restaurant in North Brunswick. She and her husband Bill, are proud parentsof two children who were fortunate to attend East Brunswick Public Schools K-12. Jennifer is a 1998 graduate of EBHS, a 2002 graduate of Vanderbilt University with Masters Degrees fromNotre Dame and GW University. Joshua is a member of the EBHS Class of 2001 and 2005 graduateof American University. He and his wife Katie, also an EBHS and American University graduate, have a son, Zachary, who will attend kindergarten at Lawrence BrookElementary in 2019; a baby brother in February 2017
